The Nuclear Option Main Story, Minutmen Quest

1. Talk to Preston Garvey

I should talk to Preston Garvey about launching an attack on the Institute.

2. Talk to Sturges

Preston Garvey told me that Sturges has figured out a way to attack the Institute.

3. Gain access to the Institute

Sturges analyzed the data from the Institute network and found a way in: an old tunnel providing cooling water to their reactor. He gave me a holotape that will reprogram the Institute Relay to bring in the Minutemen.

Inside the first room use keypad to open entrance to next pipe.

There is Fusion Core in one of the rooms.

Find this pipe and open a hatch at the end.

4. Activate Institute Relay

I've reached the Institute Relay and reprogrammed it to bring in the Minutemen assault force.

Load Institute Relay Targeting Sequence holotape and select Initiate Remote Relay Sequence.

 

5. Talk to Preston Garvey

Preston will give you Fusion Pulse Charge.

6. Reach Institute Reactor

Preston Garvey and the Minutemen have teleported into the Institute. I need to reach the reactor and place a Fusion Pulse Charge on it so we can destroy the entire facility remotely.

Go through an old part of the Institute. If you want, you can use one of the terminals to activate Sentry Bot, it will start killing synths but at the end you have to kill it.

You will find Fusion Core in one of the rooms.

7. Use Terminal to Override Institute Lockdown

The only way to reach the Institute's reactor is through a terminal in the Director's quarters.

8. Reach the Reactor

The path to the Institute reactor is now unlocked; I need to pass through the Advanced Systems lab to reach it.

9. Plant Fusion Pulse Charge Inside Reactor

We've arrived at the Institute reactor. Once the Fusion Pulse Charge has been planted, we can finally destroy the Institute once and for all.

10. Talk to Preston Garvey

The charge is in place; we need to get out of the Institute and reach a safe distance before it can be detonated.

11. Talk to Shaun

You can leave him here or take him with you.

12. Talk to Sturges

13. Step Into the Relay

14. Use the Detonator

We've successfully made it out of the Institute. All that's left to do now is push the button that will destroy them completely.

15. Talk to Preston Garvey

It's over. The Institute has been destroyed, and the Minuteman stand victorious.

16. Quest completed

If you took Shaun with you, then you can speak with him at The Castle. He will give you a holotape with a message from Father.
