I will not go into the varying accounts of what happened at Adamantine Tower, nor will I relate the War of Manifest Metaphors that rendered those stories unable to support most qualities of what is commonly known as "narrative." We all have our favorite Lorkhan story and our favorite Lorkhan motivation for the creation of Nirn, as well as our favorite story of what happened to His Heart, but the Theory of the Lunar Lorkhan is of special note.
In short, the Moons were and are the two halves of Lorkhan's "flesh-divinity." Like the rest of the Gods, Lorkhan was a plane(t) that participated in the Great Construction ? except where the Eight lent portions of their heavenly bodies to create the mortal plane(t), Lorkhan's was cracked asunder and his divine spark fell to Nirn as a shooting star "to impregnate it with the measure of its existence and a reasonable amount of selfishness."
Masser and Secunda therefore are the personifications of the dichotomy?the "Cloven Duality," according to Artaeum?that Lorkhan legends often rail against: ideas of the anima/animus, good/evil, being/nothingness, the poetry of the body, throat, and moan/silence-as-the-abortive, and so on, all set in the night sky as Lorkhan's constant reminder to his mortal issue of their duty.
Followers of this theory hold that all other "Heart Stories" are mythical degradations of the true origin of the moons (and it needn't be said that they observe the "hollow crescent theory" as well).

Je ne m'étendrai pas sur les divers comptes rendus des événements de la Tour adamantine et je n'évoquerai pas non plus la guerre des métaphores qui rendit ces histoires si difficiles ? narrer. Chacun a son récit préféré de Lorkhan, comme chacun a sa propre hypoth?se sur ce qui l'a poussé ? créer Nirn ou sur ce qui est arrivé ? son c?ur, mais la théorie du Lorkhan lunaire est particuli?rement intéressante ? bien des égards.
Pour résumer, les lunes étaient et sont encore les deux parties de la ? divine chair ? de Lorkhan. Comme les autres divinités, Lorkhan était une plan?te qui participa au Grand ?uvre? mais lorsque les Huit firent don d'une partie d'eux-m?mes pour engendrer le monde des mortels, Lorkhan fut pulvérisé et son étincelle divine tomba sur Nirn comme une étoile filante pour ? l'imprégner de la mesure de son existence et d'une part non négligeable d'égo?sme. ?
Masser et Secunda personnifient donc la dichotomie ? ou ? Dualité de la Scission ? selon Art?um ? contre laquelle s'él?vent les légendes de Lorkhan : notamment dans l'opposition des concepts d'anima/animus, de bien/mal, de création/néant, de poésie du corps/du verbe et de complainte/silence-infécond, etc. Concepts figés dans le ciel nocturne comme le rappelle aux descendants de Lorkhan la nature humaine de leur devoir.
Les fid?les de cette théorie affirment que les autres ? Récits des c?urs ? sont des extrapolations de la véritable origine des lunes (inutile cependant de préciser qu'ils restent fid?les ? la ? théorie de la lune creuse ?).

Ich will nicht näher auf die unterschiedlichen Berichte über die Geschehnisse am Adamantturm oder den Krieg der Manifestierten Metaphern eingehen, der dafür gesorgt hat, dass diese Geschichten nicht mehr als das betrachtet werden können, was man gemeinhin als ?Erzählung? ansieht. Jeder von uns hat seine Lieblingserzählung über Lorkhan, einen Lieblingsgrund, aus dem Lorkhan Nirn erschaffen hat, und eine Geschichte darüber, was letztendlich mit seinem Herzen geschehen ist, aber die Theorie über den Mond Lorkhan soll hier gesondert erwähnt werden.
Kurz gesagt waren die Monde die zwei Hälften von Lorkhans ?fleischgewordener Göttlichkeit?. Wie auch die anderen Götter war Lorkhan ein Planet und eine Ebene, beteiligt an der Großen Erschaffung ? bis auf den Teil, bei dem die Acht Teile ihrer himmlischen Körper opferten, um den sterblichen Planeten und die sterbliche Ebene zu erschaffen. Lorkhan brach dabei entzwei und sein göttlicher Funke fiel als Sternschnuppe auf Nirn. So ?verlieh er Nirn seine göttliche Existenz und eine vernünftige Portion Selbstsucht?.
Masser und Secunda sind also die Personifizierung dieser Spaltung (nach Artaeum die ?Gespaltene Zweihaftigkeit?'), gegen die die Lorkhan-Legende oft ankämpfen muss: Gedanken des Anima/Animus, von Gut und Böse, Sein und Nichtsein, der Poesie von Körper, Hals und Wehklagen gegenüber der Stille-als-verzehrendes-Nichts etc. pp. All dies ist als Lorkhans ewiges Manifest in den Abendhimmel eingebrannt, um die Sterblichen an ihre Pflichten zu erinnern.
Anhänger dieser Theorie sind der Meinung, dass alle anderen ?Erzählungen des Herzens? mythologische Abwertungen des wahren Ursprungs der Monde sind. Es muss wohl nicht erwähnt werden, dass die ?Theorie vom hohlen Mond? ebenfalls hierunter fällt.

Der Mond Lorkhan
